Landscaping

From overgrown to outdoor sanctuary.

Freshly laid sod on a residential property

Most of our landscaping work is transformation, not blank slate. People call us when a yard has gotten away from them — beds overrun by weeds and volunteer growth, hedges blown out past where they should be, areas of the lot they’ve stopped using because they don’t know where to start.

We start with a walk-through. Carlos will look at what’s there, listen to what’s bothering you, and sketch where the bones should be. Sometimes that’s removing more than adding — clearing brush back to native trees that were always there, opening sight lines, restoring a path. Sometimes it’s installation: new beds, fresh sod, a renovated front entry.

Every install includes the cleanup. Crews stage materials neatly, sweep drives, and haul off all debris. The lawn is mowed and edged before we leave.

What a typical job touches

Most jobs include some mix of these.

  1. New planting beds — design, prep, plant, mulch
  2. Sod installation
  3. Overseeding and lawn renovation
  4. Hedge, shrub, and ornamental tree trimming
  5. Brush clearing and overgrowth removal
  6. Mulch refresh — natural hardwood, dyed, or rock
  7. Spring and fall bed cleanups

How we work

From first walk-through to final cleanup.

  1. Walk-through and design conversation

What's working, what's not, what you want it to feel like.

  2. Plant and material selection

We pull from local growers for plants that handle Ozark heat, clay soil, and our deer pressure.

  3. Site prep

Bed shaping, soil amendment, fabric where it earns its keep, edging.

  4. Install

Plants, mulch, sod, finish work. Most residential transformations finish in 1–3 days on site.

  5. Walk-through and care notes

First watering and trim instructions before we leave.

Common questions

Answered straight.

Do you do landscape design or just install?

Both. For most residential projects we walk the property, sketch the plan together, and revise before any plants go in. We don't charge for design when we're doing the install.

What plants work in SW Missouri?

Native and adapted plants do best — coneflower, black-eyed susan, switchgrass, oakleaf hydrangea, redbud, serviceberry, ninebark. Boxwood, hostas, and daylilies remain reliable workhorses. We'll steer away from plants that hate clay or dry summers.

Do you remove existing landscaping?

Yes. Brush clearing, shrub removal, and overgrowth cleanup are part of the work — that 'rainforest out of control' transformation Julie reviewed was exactly that kind of project.

Will you match my existing style?

Yes. Most of our work is additive to what's already there — we'll work with your home's architecture and what you've planted to keep things coherent.

Do you do the maintenance after install?

If you'd like. Many install clients add a maintenance visit cadence so the new plantings stay looking the way they did the day we left.
